Our response to the Covid-19 crisis

The Foundation is acutely aware of the impact that the current covid-19 crisis is having on our local communities and extends its deep sympathies to those directly impacted by the crisis. It is committed to providing support to the people and communities of the local area where it can make a positive difference.

Our response so far

  1. We are working with the organisations that have already received grants from us to ensure that they can be flexible about how they use existing funding. In this way we can support them and their beneficiaries through the crisis.
  2. £250,000 has been made immediately available in our next funding round that we will seek to deploy to assist the local area.
  3. We have provided £10,000 to Redcar and Cleveland Volunteer Development Agency (RCVDA) to distribute.
  4. We are providing £10,300 to foodbanks and other support charities in Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale.

Looking forward

We are currently looking at how we can further support both organisations and charities in the wider community during and after the covid-19 crisis.

The Trustees are currently in touch with local authorities and other stakeholders to try and understand where the current £250,000 of funding might be best spent to have the most positive impact.

The trustees will also consider what more it could do to support communities with the resources it currently has. Please monitor the website for when the next funding round is launched.
